compound butter recipe


  • (8) tbsp unsalted butter, softened — aka 1 stick
  • (¼) oz fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • (¼) oz fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • (1) garlic clove, grated
  • (1) tsp kosher salt — or sea salt


  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well until all the ingredients are well incorporated
  2. Lay butter mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper
  3. Roll butter in parchment paper to form a log with the compound butter
  4. Chill the butter for 20 minutes before using
