• (1) lb roast beef, sliced thinly
  • (4) steak rolls
  • (1) tbsp butter
  • (1) garlic clove, minced
  • (1) white onion, sliced thinly
  • (1) tbsp flour
  • (3) cups beef broth
  • (1) tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • (1) tsp sherry


  1. Heat a sauce pot over medium-high heat
  2. Once heated, add butter to pot and allow to melt
  3. Add onion and garlic to butter and sauté for about 5 minutes, until beginning to turn translucent
  4. Add flour to onion and garlic mixture, stir and cook for a minute
  5. Next, add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and sherry and whisk
  6. Continue to cook sauce until it begins to boil, then remove from heat
  7. Add salt & pepper to taste
  8. Dunk roast beef in au jus sauce before placing into a sliced steak roll
  9. Serve immediately with a side of the au jus sauce for dipping
