• Pizza dough
  • (13.5) oz tomato sauce
  • (6) oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • (¼) lb italian sausage, ground (about 1 large link)
  • (2) oz mushroom, chopped (I used shitake, but you can use your favorite variety)
  • (½) small bell pepper, diced (or ¼ of 2 different color bell peppers)
  • (1) small shallot, diced
  • (4) oz ricotta cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. Roll out dough evenly, until thin, and place on a baking dish
  3. Spread ½ the pizza sauce over the dough and sprinkle ½ of the mozzarella cheese
  4. Dot the pie evenly with sausage
  5. Spread the mushroom, peppers and shallot evenly around pie
  6. Add the remaining mozzarella cheese then the remaining pizza sauce over the cheese
  7. Dot the top of the pizza with the ricotta cheese
  8. Place pizza in oven for 20-25 minutes, until cheese has melted and ricotta begins to lightly brown
  9. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes and cut into pieces before serving
