• (1½) cups milk, divided
  • (¼) cup flour
  • (½) tsp salt
  • (¼) tsp pepper
  • (6) oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • (2) tbsp sriracha hot sauce
  • (1) bag tortilla chips


  1. Place large sauce pan over medium heat
  2. Combine half of the milk with the flour in the saucepan and whisk
  3. Stir in the other half of the milk and bring to a boil, stirring frequently
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer mixture until thickened, stirring constantly (about 2 minutes)
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and add salt, pepper and cheese
  6. Stir until cheese melts
  7. Add sriracha hot sauce and stir until evenly combined
  8. Pour warm cheese into a bowl for dipping or pour over a plate of tortilla chips for picking
